Roey is a passionate photographer; a tireless seeker of beauty, light, and breathtaking compositions.
Born in Israel and raised in New York City, Roey brings an emotional sensibility to his work that leaves clients breathless.
Roey met Zoe while on assignment in Greece — a few days later they went for an all night drive and now 14 years later they are loving parents of two children and proud partners in Roey Yohai Studios. Theirs is an old fashioned love story in modern times, one that inspires how they see the world and the passion they bring to every aspect of their creative partnership.
Classically educated in Photojournalism he spent the formative years of his career covering major news and events for various newspapers across the USA.
He has documented the inauguration of President Obama, the conflict in Israel, daily life in Cuba, the Slow Food movement in the Mediterranean region, the Olympic Games in Greece.
But nothing has captured his heart the way weddings have. He is a big believer that "love has no boundaries" - emotionally, spiritually, racially, geographically, socially, culturally. "I consider it a huge honor to capture the joy of a couple's day."
His work has taken him to family estates, second homes, dreamy venues and magical places across the globe, and has been featured in Harpers Bazaar, Martha Stewart Weddings, Inside Weddings, bridal guides, and on countless wedding blogs and websites.
Roey is happily married and lives in Gramercy with two children.
